30/01/2012 – 06/02/2012 Planet Earth – Our Home These two weeks will be very exciting! The children will learn about the importance of the Sun, explore the three elements – Land, Water and Air, and listen to the story of Earth (from the first era when volcanoes erupted and produced hot lava covering the whole Earth’s surface to the most recent period in the history of planet Earth). They will have a lot of fun with sand and water play, and discovering their creative side! We will be painting, creating our very own fossils using clay, listening to wonderful songs about our planet Earth, and so much more. We will be continuing our project on Planet Earth. Please see the Diary Dates for more information. Holiday fun will be running this half term from Monday 13th to Thursday16th February. Please download the application form here. We have introduced a lunch club to WPMS. This gives parents the opportunity to pick up their children later or drop them at School earlier then usual, around the lunch period. Morning pupils may be collected at 12:55pm, and afternoon pupils dropped at 12:20pm. Children should bring a packed lunch. Places can be booked on an ad hoc basis at £6 per day, or pre-booked for the whole term at £5 per day. Please see the Newsletter for further details, or contact Miss Clare. Places may be reserved through you class teacher.
According to Ofsted - We're OUTSTANDING ... but you knew that already! We had our Ofsted Inspection on Monday 19th September 2011, and we were given an Outstanding rating. Full credit is due to all the Staff at WPMS. We're sure you will agree that this recognition is fully deserved, and that your children will continue to benefit from the excellent standard of care and education provided by WPMS. As soon as Ofsted has updated its website, we will provide the link here. If you would like to read the report in the meantime, there will be copies at each class door, or please e-mail me and I will post one out to you (unfortunately Ofsted do not provide electronic copies). New WPMS website features and address The School website address has now changed. Please use www.wpms.co.uk from now on (and please add us to your favourites). You may have been redirected here via the old address, so please alter your bookmarks/favourites for future reference, as the redirection may not last indefinitely. We have made the changes as the School has generally become known as WPMS over the years, and we thought it would be much easier to use and remember! The new site also means that the School e-mail addresses will change. Essentially just swap 'wpmontessori' for 'wpms' wherever you see it, but most importantly: Miss Clare will now be clare@wpms.co.uk. Please amend your contacts appropriately.
