PLEASE NOTE: The value of the Nursery Education Grant has changed, and thus the invoices sent out last week for those receiving this for the Summer term are incorrect. Amended invoices will be sent out this week.
This half term we will be looking at many aspects of the Science curriculum. Science – Sound Next week we are going to be continuing our project on Science, but focusing on sound. We will be discussing the concepts of quiet and loud, and experimenting with recognising familiar sounds. We will also try to create sound noisy objects to bring home! Please see this term's diary dates for all events this term. This has been given out previously at School, but is here as a reference for you Spring 2010 Dairy Dates.
Science – Colour We are going to be experimenting with Colour. We will discuss how we see colour for example, blue is often thought of as a cold, wintry colour. We will be having a Rainbow party on Wednesday 10th March, so please dress your children in as many different colours as you can. Wednesday 10th March 2010: Rainbow Party Don't forget that we will be having our Rainbow Party. If you attend on this day, please dress your child in as many different colours as you can – your imagination is the only limit! Easter fun sessions are available to book at School. Please see your class teacher for details, or see the attached flyer Easter Fun 2010. Please see the Easter Fun Schedule for details of events occurring.
We have introduced a lunch club to WPMS. This gives parents the opportunity to pick up their children later or drop them at School earlier then usual, around the lunch period. Morning pupils may be collected at 12:55pm, and afternoon pupils dropped at 12:20pm. Children should bring a packed lunch. Places can be booked on an ad hoc basis at £6 per day, or pre-booked for the whole term at £5 per day. Please see the Newsletter for further details, or contact Miss Clare. Places may be reserved through you class teacher.

Last term saw our Ofsted Inspection completed. We would like to thank all those Parents and Carers who were approached, and who completed the questionnaires. We are extremely pleased to say that the Inspector was very impressed by the Nursery, and gave us a good rating. She said that she thought the Nursery was very good throughout, but gradings are now Unsatisfactory, Satisfactory, Good and Outstanding. Maybe in 2011! New WPMS website features and address The School website address has now changed. Please use www.wpms.co.uk from now on (and please add us to your favourites). You may have been redirected here via the old address, so please alter your bookmarks/favourites for future reference, as the redirection may not last indefinitely. We have made the changes as the School has generally become known as WPMS over the years, and we thought it would be much easier to use and remember! The new site also means that the School e-mail addresses will change. Essentially just swap 'wpmontessori' for 'wpms' wherever you see it, but most importantly: Miss Clare will now be clare@wpms.co.uk. Please amend your contacts appropriately.
