Nursery Education Grant

Wandsworth Education Authority run a Nursery Education Grant scheme.  This is available to all three and four year olds attending WPMS as their main nursery school provider.

The basic stages in obtaining the grant, and the procedures for its distribution are laid out below.  Please take time to familiarise yourself with them.

  • Proof of age for your child must be shown to the School staff. This usually takes the form of a Passport or Birth Certificate, and will be required to be seen and photocopied when your child starts at WPMS.
  • Your child becomes eligible for the grant the term AFTER they turn three years old.   The qualifying dates are set by Wandsworth Education department, and are as follows:

        Eligible for Grant in Autumn term 2010           Born between 1st September 2005 and 31st August 2007

        Eligible for Grant in Spring term 2011            Born between 1st January 2006 and 31st December 2007

        Eligible for Grant in Summer term 2011           Born between 1st April 2006 and 31st March 2008

(A child must be three years old before the dates laid out above in order to be eligible for the grant.  This is independent of term dates, and therefore your child may be three before the start of term, but still not be eligible for the grant  (e.g. a child born on 3rd September 2007, will not be eligible for the grant until the Spring term 2011, commencing in January, although he will turn three years old before the actually start of the School Autumn term 2010).  The cut off date for the Autumn term grant is the 31st August 2007, and likewise for the other terms.  Dates are set by Wandsworth Council, not us.)

  • A declaration must be signed by the parent / carer stating consent to WPMS to claim the Grant on your behalf.
  • A grant received, for example, in the Autumn term is paid to the School around October/November time by Wandsworth Education Department. 
  • Grant payments are deducted from the relevant term's fees prior to the fees being paid.
